Our 2025 Committees

With a small but mighty two-person staff, efficient communication is essential to keep our work moving forward. Our committee structure and communication policy are designed to simplify collaboration, avoid lost email threads, and make it easier for everyone—staff, board, and members—to stay informed and involved. By streamlining how we connect, we can focus more energy on making things happen.

How It Works:

• GroupMe for Communication: Each committee uses GroupMe to communicate. This platform keeps conversations organized, accessible, and easy to reference—no more digging through endless email chains. While important documents and updates may still be shared via email, GroupMe will be used for ongoing updates and reminders to ensure no one misses key information.

• Committee Chairs: Every committee is led by a Chair who helps organize meetings, finalize decisions alongside Chamber staff, and serve as the point of contact between the committee, the staff, and the rest of the board.

• Open vs. Board-Only Committees: While some committees are open to all Chamber members, others are reserved for board members due to the nature of their responsibilities. This helps ensure efficient decision-making and appropriate oversight.
